Richard L. Peete
Richard Peete's career spans over twenty years of experience in the areas of software design, networking, systems analysis, and enterprise solutions for business. As the principal at RPnet Solutions, Rick brings a wealth of business and technology experience to the table to companies looking for a seasoned Internet partner.
One of Rick's first major accomplishments was implementing the first nationwide fugitive tracking system for the United States Marshals Service at the age of 25. This was a large client/server based database/telecommunications system that is still being utilized today to track and help apprehend fugitives. He has also implemented a procurement system for the U.S. Navy, a document control and processing system for the U.S. Army, and wrote and marketed a communication package providing PC-to-mainframe and PC-to-PC communications.
Another significant milestone in Rick's career was the successful design and implementation of scalable automation solutions for the education marketplace in support of libraries and student learning. These systems were the first to utilize Laser Disc and CD-ROM technologies. Later products were cross-platform, client/server solutions that supported both the Microsoft Windows and Macintosh computer systems. Most of the schools in Crystal Lake are utilizing software products designed and developed by Rick while he worked for the Follett Software Company.
As the Director of Web & Systems Development at Follett Corporation, Rick was responsible for providing Internet business strategy, and developing web-based application solutions for both internal users and external business partners. Rick was instrumental in the establishment of a comprehensive Intranet for Follett, including a best-in-class, secured Human Resources system that gives employees and management access to a variety of web-based HR services from anywhere in the nation.
Rick's company, RPnet Solutions, specializes in developing comprehensive Internet Business strategies for companies that wish to enter the Internet economy. These solutions involve web-based applications development for both Internet and Intranet environments. RPnet helps businesses integrate and enhance business practices by creating robust, reliable, and customer-friendly web applications that dynamically respond to customer needs and communicate directly with internal business systems.
Web sites developed by RPnet Solutions include e-commerce sites that do real-time credit transaction processing with complete fraud protection, sites for non-profit organizations, information/news web sites, sports clubs, and specialized/niche companies. The RPnet web site contains a partial portfolio of sites developed for companies and organizations representing a broad range of industries.
Rick attended Georgetown University and is a member of the ACM and IEEE computer societies. He is also a member of the Association for Internet Professionals and a charter member of the Chicago ColdFusion Users Group. Rick is a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) with additional certifications for Windows NT Server, Microsoft Windows 95, TCP/IP, and Internet Systems.
